How long does the Aranet4 device store historic data?

The amount of historical measurement data stored is directly tied to the measurement interval set on the device:
Memory management
Altering the measurement interval triggers a restructuring of existing data in the memory system.
For instance, switching from a shorter interval (e.g., 1 minute) to a longer one (e.g., 10 minutes) aggregates ten 1-minute measurements to compute and store an average value. Conversely, adjusting from a longer interval (e.g., 10 minutes) to a shorter one (e.g., 1 minute) generates supplementary data in 1-minute intervals by extrapolating values from 10-minute measurements, creating a sequence of 10-minute "steps" with identical values.
Frequent changes in measurement intervals are discouraged due to resulting data loss caused by averaging and padding.
If more frequent measurements are required, use "on-demand measurement" feature for instant measurement.
Background data download
The data can be downloaded in the background if the application runs as a background process and "Background data read" is enabled in the app settings.
Note: This information pertains to firmware version v1.4.14 onwards. Refer to the changelog in the forum post for additional details.

What happens after the amount of the stored historic measurement data is reached? Aranet4 will no longer store/share new data or oldest data will be deleted? Does it happen automatically?

The data that is older than the possible storage period will be automatically overwritten in the device memory with the new measured data.

How comes that Historic data availability is the same for 2,5 and 10 mn intervals? Couldn't it be 7,17 and 35 days?

Consider this as a product feature: historic data availability is the same for 2, 5, or 10 minutes measurement intervals configured.

Hello.
My new Aranet4 device has just been in service for a little over a week. I noticed today though that the data collection ceased after 7 days (was running a 2 minute sample frequency). It has not actually continued to collect data and overwrite older days beyond a trailing 7 day window.
Up above in this thread there was a comment from aranet-techsupport stating:
"The data that is older than the possible storage period will be automatically overwritten in the device memory with the new measured data"
I am not finding this to be the case and can't seem to find any setting to resolve this. Seem to have to resort to manually pulling the battery every 7 days to refresh the data collection. Am I missing something????
Thanks.

Hello,
A possible reason is your Aranet4 app is stuck. Please try to restart the app. If you are using iPhone, the following topic might be helpful: https://forum.aranet.com/all-about-aranet4/aranet4-application-measurement-does-not-update-with-new-data-from-device-the-app-displays-measurement-in-gray/

Hello,
When I first launched my Aranet4, it created a huge peak of CO2 (more than 4000ppm) in the graphics displayed on my iphone. This was certainly a fake "very first" measurement. The problem is that this peak doesn't disappear (is not overwritten by new data) after one week, knwing my interval setting is 1 min. (so it should have been overwritten after 3.5 days if I understood well...). And this peak is so high, that it "crushes down" the real data on the display. I did fully restart the app several time, but nothing change. So, please, how to get rid of this initial peak on the data display ?
Best regards,
Antoine

Hello Antoine,
Current Aranet4 app version keeps 30 days of measurements history in phone memory. After 30 days, the data will be overwritten or you can reinstall the app to clear the history.
And thank you for reporting, manual history clearing will be included in the list of future improvements.

I feel that there should be an option to delete or at least hide incorrect readings. Try blowing into the device and see how much CO2 it will register in the minutes after that.

Hello Antoine,
By the way, you can clear the history of the measurements by deleting the sensor from the app and pairing it back again.
You have to log in to reply.
