I bought aranet4 as an accurate device to compare and calibrate my netatmo devices.
I am very surprised by the measurements.
Aranet4 indicates a humidity of 30%, while Netatmo indicates 44%.
The difference is impressive. What is the tolerance of your device, and can it be faulty (badly calibrated)?
Note that I have 3 Netatmo devices, and I've grouped them together in the same place, so they're consistent with each other.
Thank you in advance for your feedback.aranet-techsupport

Thank you for reaching out. We understand your concern regarding the difference in humidity readings between your Aranet4 and your three Netatmo devices. While it’s helpful that your Netatmo devices agree with one another, this consistency alone does not confirm their absolute accuracy. It is possible that all three could share a similar offset.
Aranet4 Humidity Tolerance
Aranet4’s humidity sensor has a typical accuracy of ±3% (in the 20%–80% range) according to its specifications. A difference of 14% (30% vs. 44%) is certainly noticeable, so we recommend the following steps before concluding that your Aranet4 is at fault:- Verify with a Known Reference: Use a calibrated hygrometer or another trusted reference sensor (e.g., a lab-grade device) in the same environment to see if the Aranet4 or the Netatmo units align more closely with that reference.
- Allow Adequate Acclimation: Ensure all devices remain side-by-side for at least 30 minutes in a stable environment without drafts, direct sunlight, or heat sources.
- Check for Environmental Factors: Humidity can vary within a room, so place all sensors on the same level and location for the best comparison.
If, after these steps, the Aranet4 still appears to deviate significantly from a known and calibrated reference, please let us know. We’ll gladly assist you further, including checking warranty options or discussing a potential replacement if necessary.
