Hi there,
Has anyone found a travel case that fits the Aranet4 device? I don't see any recommendations on this site nor on Amazon for a case which is designed for this device. Ideally something slim that can protect the device from damage from falling / dropping and spills would be great! I'm hoping to get many years of use from the device, and think a simple case could improve longevity.
Thanks!
Jamie

Hi Jamie,
There is now an original Aranet travel case available here.

I'd like to vote for a soft silicone case, with some kind of carabiner hook or cord that would allow it to be worn on clothing--for keeping an eye on air quality when in crowded spaces.

I really appreciate these suggestions! So, putting the device in a carry case (one for the Samsung Galaxy Flip, for example) won't interfere with it giving accurate readings?

Does the original Aranet travel case interfere with the sensors? Does the device need to be removed from its case in order to get an accurate reading?

The measurements become slower when using the case. We advise using cases for traveling. However, if you want to see a fast response when changing environments (e.g. entering a crowded room), the Aranet4 should be taken out of the case.

I have the same question. I'm looking for a case to help protect the Aranet4 device from damage so I can leave it in my purse or backpack and take it with me when I leave home. I purchased the device from Amazon (I'm in the U.S.) and some of the reviews mentioned that the display screen got damaged pretty quickly so for now I have been leaving the device at home.
I appreciate the suggested links above. Please let me know if you come out with a travel case. Ideally the case would be either a slim rubbery/silicone type case similar to a phone case, or a hard case with a flip top, to protect the display and prevent scratches. Thanks!tiho

The device comes with a box that is already protected against being handled roughly through transport. I used the foam that came with the device, made larger openings near the holes so the sensors could read and stuck the device on it with doublesided tape

I've found a couple of inexpensive protective case options that work well:
1) For more protection, a small hard drive case like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003LSTD38/
2) For less protection but more airflow (collecting data while in the case) these mesh bags work great: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JZ8XGGW/

That mesh bag idea is really smart!

I just tried my hard drive case and the fit was good. It's a little larger than the monitor (length wise) but the elastic strap helps to keep it secure. Certainly better than bouncing around in my bag.
For those in Australia, the hard case is at Officeworks. https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/j-burrows-portable-hard-drive-hard-case-red-jbsyhardrd

This one is solidly built, has the same dimension as the box the Aranet4 comes in, but with rounded corners. You can trim the foam in the Aranet4 box and put it in this case to keep the device snug.

Could someone @aranet-techsupport update the link to 3-D printing protective case information? Visiting it now redirects to aranet.com homepage. Thank you.

I purchased a faux leather case (link below) and inserted my device facing away from me (reverse) and upside down in the case so that the sensors are as close as possible to the cut outs near the bottom of the case. It is a little bit spacious but that makes it easier to remove the Aranet4. The encasement also skews the reading, but it's a decent solution. I added a wrist leash to the small snap loop on the back of the case so I can more easily carry it. It can be found on Amazon (US links work if you tap on the short description below):
Case: WOGOZAN Pouch for Fujifilm Instax Square Photos
Wrist leash: Cinch-a-Lot Stretch Strapramequin

I'm using a generic ammunition MOLLE pouch for single mag assault rifle.
I'ts really convenient as it can be attached to a belt or a backpack and the fit to the aranet is almost made to measure. My pouch has secured elastic straps and the vents of the Aranet are quite open to the air. It can also help to protect a little in case of accidental drop.

Fyi to anyone visiting this thread -- there's a group called "Donate A Mask" that is 3d printing and shipping cases for Aranet4. I believe some process go to charity to provide masks for those in need?
I just received the two I ordered, and they seem pretty good. They're kind of softer and more flexible than other 3d printed materials I've seen, so I think they would protect well enough from bumps and drops. Takes a bit of effort to get the device into it, and would need to remove it to get the device out (like to change batteries). Not sure about longevity of the material. I prefer the look of the black color option rather than the white option -- I think it won't show dirt as much.

They are not travel pouches / cases, but rather are designed to always be on the device to protect it generally from bumps without getting in the way of operation of the device. It does make it a bit more bulky though.

Further to the post above, use this instruction sheet if you do buy from the charity group. It is impossible to get the case on if you don't know the trick!
