We have been using Aranet temperature sensors for several years to record historical data with 5 minute period, downloaded the recorded data and averaged these to 15 minutes for our purposes. Now we, for the first time, use an Aranet pulse counter and we noticed that the timestamps of the recorded data are not synchronized to any grid, start with power-on of the device and also drift off after a while. F.e. the timestamps may look like this:
00:03:30
00:08:32
00:13:38
00:18:41
...
05:20:01
05:25:04
05:30:09
You may ask why we care: for pulse counters we record quantities like gas that we need to compare with supplier data,
f.e. to analyze peak consumptions. If the timestamps are not synchronized, we may have shifts of the consumptions up
to 5 minutes! Reducing the interval to 1 minute and averaging the data accordingly, is not a solution because the battery
will discharge too quickly.I guess there is currently no synchronization mechanism for the data recording?
