VWC setting is used to select the proper soil calibration profile for the sensor:
- Topp is Topp equation for general use with any soil type;
- Soilless when potting soil, perlite or peat is used as the substrate for growing plants;
- Mineral soil as the name suggests should be used with mineral soils;
- Rockwool is our customized conversion function for cases when Grodan GT Master Rockwool is used.

Since Aranet PRO/PRO+ firmware version 3.1.6 VWC sensor data treatment in the SenorHUB is improved. The latest recommendations by MeterGroup are respected and calibration profiles are changed:
- Topp G.C. is Topp equation for general use with any soil type;
- Mineral soil as the name suggests should be used with mineral soils;
- Rockwool Ekover - recommended for Ekover Grunt Tomato, Grunt Green 1.0, and Grunt Green 2.0 and analogs.
- Rockwool Grodan - recommended for Grodan DM32 40/40 Hugo and analogs.
- Cocos or peat - 30-60% VWC; Charcoir/Kekkila
- Soilless media - recommendation by MeterGroup
Please also be advised about sensor recommended installation and volume of influence:
- 4 cm from bottom in the middle of the slab
