How to create Virtual Sensor in Aranet Cloud?
Virtual sensors are useful when you need to add an offset to measured value or calculate Sum, Average and other values from sensors measured data.
To create Virtual sensor navigate to SENSORS menu, select VIRTUAL SENSORS tab, and click NEW VIRTUAL SENSOR button:
New pop-up window will open where you should select the type of calculated value Virtual sensor will present:
Click on the chosen plate to proceed to the next screen. For example, let's chose Average. Give sensor a Name, select Metric from the drrop-down list (in our example it is Temperature), and click to add sensors which data will be used in the calculation:
In the new pop-up window, you can select both physical and virtual sensors with chosen Metric. If you have a big number of sensors in your system, you can use Filter
icon for selection. To change your selection, click CLEAR ALL button to make another choice. In our example, three physical sensors are selected. Click ACCEPT button to save this choice.
Now you are back on previous screen where chosen sensors and calculated result are shown. Press CREATE button:
You will be informed that Virtual Sensor was created:
Now you can find this sensor in the list Virtual Sensors and manage it as a physical sensor: assign it a Tag, add it to Dashboard, create Graphs, Alarm Rules, etc.
