My Aranet4 CO₂ monitor, purchased in February 2022, recently and suddenly developed a screen fault: the e-ink screen is now almost entirely black.
The device appears to be otherwise functioning normally; it can be seen to update at the normal frequency (the display becomes momentarily less black, but the screen refresh cycle is much more feeble than it used to be); one can just about make out the current CO₂ reading; and it reads fine over Bluetooth.
The failure was quite sudden; the screen looked fine a few days before I noticed the fault. Nothing bad happened to it in the interim (such as being dropped); it was sat undisturbed on a table in an inhabited room.
I've tried removing the (alkaline) batteries (for a couple of hours). The battery level read as 35% over Bluetooth. There's no sign of corrosion etc from the batteries. I've tried fresh batteries (reading 94% over Bluetooth) and that didn't change the symptom.
(The firmware version displayed when it was first shipped is "v0.4.10"; I don't have any device which can run the Aranet app, so I'm sure it's not been updated since. Not that this seems likely to be a firmware fault.)
I've seen reports of screen faults elsewhere, but not this exact symptom. Any ideas what can be done to fix it, if anything?

Hi!
This is a damaged screen, might be from high humidity or otherwise. If drying the sensor without batteries does not help (leave for several days in a dry enviroenment), then please fill out the RMA form: https://rma.aranet.com/
