Hello,
The screen flickering i have on the new aranet4 i got doesnt seem to be the same as the one i got previously.
I made a video of it and the flickering seems scattered on the new one (sitting on top) and different from the old one i have (sitting at the bottom in the video)

mine too! the screen flickers every time the display is changed. I'll return it if they don't fix it! it's not normal for one device to flicker and one to be normal.sorry aranet but this is true

So just to get this right: There are versions of the Aranet4 devices with and without screen flickering?
That means the lottery game with a lot of returns has to be played to get a device without this disgusting flickering?

Hi screenking, the short answer is no.
Each device is capable of flickering to appear, and flickering is a normal behaviour for e-ink displays.Aranet4 flickers because it uses a power-efficient e-ink screen, not an LCD/OLED screen. E-ink works by physically moving tiny charged black/white particles inside the display. When the number changes, the screen sometimes has to “shake” or refresh pixels before settling into the new image. That can look like flickering. It is basically the display cleaning up the old image, so the new reading does not leave ghosting.
Flicker can look different between devices because different hardware versions may be used. Some customers have flickering to appear more noticeable than for others.
In short: a quick flicker before Aranet4 changes CO₂/temperature/humidity values is normal e-ink refresh behavior. It looks strange if you are used to phone screens, but for e-ink, it is part of how the display keeps the image readable while using very little battery.
