Aranet 4 screen frozen

Some time ago my Aranet 4 screen froze after a firmware upgrade. It has displayed the same values ever since.
Was not an issue until my phone need replacement, and now the new phone cannot connect as I need to see the Bluetooth pin code.
Yes, it works perfectly, except for the screen.
Any Ideas?

Please try to remove the batteries for more than 15 minutes, and then place them back in.

If it helps, I know the device is working, I just cannot see the screen other than the same display that has been there for some time.
Trying the batteries now.

No luck. Screen still on old display data. Device accessible via bluetooth - is there a master pin I can enter to the app?

There is no master PIN for adding the sensors, as the device creates a PIN code each time there is an incoming pairing.
In this case, it looks like there is some HW related issue that has caused a frozen screen.
